Day 153…
Provincetown has hearts all over the place. Red painted hearts on old wooden pallets and weathered pieces of plywood lean against the sides of trees and houses. Somebody started making smaller versions of them out of paint stirrers which are in the windows of shops up and down Commercial Street.
They seem to have started out as a thank you to essential workers and health care practitioners but now their mission has expanded. Now the hearts seem to signify a general sense of community - of people looking out for each other and taking care of each other.
Provincetown has always been a welcoming place.
Michael and his family started coming here for vacations almost before he can remember. I started coming up here a million years ago with my ex.
We are heading back down to New York this morning, so instead of a full post, I’ll leave you with a few more pictures.
Grateful to have been here and already looking forward to coming back.
