Prince Harry is talking about a meeting with his grandmother, the Queen, that had been canceled. When he asks her why, she says something to the effect of, “They tell me that my calendar is full.”
Your colouring in skills are excellent, Richard. I think it is amazing the information you do have! My father went to boarding school at the age of 7. So sad! Apparently he often went to his friends house during holidays than home. I will definitely send this to Jo in the hopes of some help ‘colouring in’.
I would be fascinated to hear the personal side of what he knows. There are plenty of facts floating around. The whole boarding school thing is a bit hard to wrap my brain around, lol. Poor Michael. That must have been rough.
My father, born in Manila in 1915, was sent away to boarding schools at age 7. I’ve never known anyone else with such similarities in their family history…
Corey is currently on tour in Southeast Asia in The Sound of Music. He’s home with me now, on a break. In March, he will be in Manila. I’m madly searching through my house for anything with details about my family’s life in the Philippines. Most of the info involves my grandparents’ internment in Santo Tomas during the Japanese occupation, but I know that my great grandfather went there in the 1800s as a young man accompanying a SF Chronicle reporter. Like you, this is not a distant relative, he lived to be 100, yet I have very little information about him.

I am in the early stages of thinking about a trip to India and the Philippines. I am filling in maps with everywhere that is mentioned. It will need to be about a 6 week trip I think!!
