Ai Weiwei is a Chinese artist whose work we have seen all over the world. He is extremely outspoken and ends up in jail when he runs afoul of the Chinese authorities. We couldn't believe that he was appearing anywhere live so got tickets right away. He's famous for a gigantic series of Zodiac figures that I first saw in front of the Plaza here in NY but then also saw at the Ringling in Sarasota. A few years ago he had a huge installation at the Tate in London. This talk was on the occasion of the release of a graphic novel he collaborated on.
