Another incredible journey, Richard! This would be perfect on a travel/ancestry program. We have one in Australia is SBS ‘Who Do You Think You Are’. Anyway, keep on digging and piecing together and I hope Michael in enjoying the ride.

It is on Netflix and is pretty accurate historically. (Which means it is WAAAAAY better than Mel Gibson's torture porn.) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6679794/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_5_nm_3_q_outlaw%2520

Love this post. I’ve not gotten nearly as far back generation-wise in my ancestry searches - maybe 7 generations, but the tie-in with history truly makes it fascinating! Recently found one of my relatives was the last private owner of the land West Point was established on. Astounding to me! Keep sharing please.

Amazing! As soon as you can connect in to even minor aristocracy, the information is out there. So many people have kept track of rich white people for generations. The poor, not so much. When I dead end on a branch I always assume its because they weren't landed or monied. So few people were literate several hundred years ago so there is, sadly, almost no record of them unless they are casually mentioned in some church or feudal lord's writing.

Just fascinating! But I must admit I'm somewhat confused by all the connections. Sounds like a wonderful trip of discovery.
